Edit an Existing Glossary

Follow these steps to modify the content of an existing glossary in GlossML format.

Procedure

  1. Select FileOpen Glossary ([Ctrl+O] on Windows/Linux, [Cmd+O] on macOS) from the main menu or click the Open Glossary button on the toolbar, then locate and open the glossary to modify.
  2. Select a cell and modify its content, or use one of the following commands from the Edit menu or their equivalent toolbar buttons.
    Option Description
    Search/Replace Text Search/Replace Text Search for a cell containing the specified text and optionally replace it. See Search and Replace.
    Add Row Add Row Add a new blank row in which to insert a new glossary term.
    Delete Row Delete Row Delete a row from the glossary, removing a term, its definition and its translations.
    Add Column Add Column Add a new column to the glossary. Available column types are:
    Comment Column
    A column for comments about a term. When present, it is the first column on the left.
    Term Column
    A column for terms in the language selected when the column is added.
    Definition Column
    A column for the definition of the associated term in the language selected when the column is added.
    Delete Column Delete Column Delete the selected column from the glossary.
  3. Save the changes with FileSave Glossary ([Ctrl+S] on Windows/Linux, [Cmd+S] on macOS), or click the Save Glossary button on the toolbar. Use FileSave Glossary As... ([Ctrl+Shift+S] on Windows/Linux, [Cmd+Shift+S] on macOS) to save under a different name.
